BODY / ATHLETICISM
Donaldson’s experience as a four-year senior is evident in his physical profile and movement. He has a strong, compact, and well-built frame—lean but powerful. His strength stands out, especially for a guard, and he consistently plays through contact. What makes him particularly effective is his change of pace; he’s not overly explosive, but he’s deceptively quick and knows exactly when to shift speeds. His balance with the ball is excellent, allowing him to stay under control in tight spaces and maintain efficiency in his movements.

SHOOTING
His shooting form is clean and fundamentally sound. He sets his feet well, maintains a strong base, and gets into his shot comfortably. The arc is consistent, and most of his attempts come within the flow of the offense, leading to quality looks. While not a high-volume shooter, his mechanics suggest reliability and confidence when needed.

POSITION OFFENSE
Donaldson operates as a true floor general. His instincts, decision-making, and control of the game stand out immediately. He handles the ball with confidence and rarely looks rushed. One of his most impressive traits is his ability to finish in traffic—using strength, touch, and timing to convert around bigger defenders. His pace and control offensively are reminiscent of smaller scoring guards who thrive off craft and efficiency. He consistently looked poised in clutch situations throughout the season, stepping into a primary role when needed and making the right reads. His ability to balance scoring and playmaking gives him real value at the collegiate level.

DEFENSE / REBOUNDING
Defensively, Donaldson is solid and reliable. He has good lateral movement, stays balanced, and uses his strength effectively, especially when matched against other guards. At times, he can even hold his own in the post due to his physicality. While not a disruptive defender in terms of steals or blocks, his effort and positioning are consistent. Rebounding is adequate for his position, aided by his strength and awareness.

MISCELLANEOUS
After beginning his career at Auburn and spending time at Michigan, Donaldson’s senior season at Miami was his most productive. He averaged 16.4 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game—career highs across the board—while taking on a leadership role within the team.

OVERALL RATING
As the season progressed, Donaldson’s value became increasingly clear. He is a guard who consistently makes winning plays and maintains control under pressure. While he may not project as a guaranteed draft selection, his style of play translates well to a team environment. His decision-making, toughness, and ability to manage a game give him a realistic pathway to becoming a reliable rotation guard at the NBA level.
